Features: Kilve, BR (WR), 'OO'

Published 5 September 2017, 15:10

Kilve is located in a fictional Great Western setting on the Somerset coast during the 1950s and 1960s, and owes much of its existence to an early 20th century oil rush in the area.

Motive power includes former GWR 0-6-0PTs, 'Prairie' 2-6-2Ts, '2251' 0-6-0s and '43XX' 2-6-0s, along with Diesel Multiple Units and Class 22 diesels - typical of the traction seen in and around the Taunton area during the period.

Measuring 17ft x 2ft, this outstanding 'OO' gauge layout features SMP track and handbuilt points, while all locomotives and multiple units are Digital Command Controlled (DCC), using the Gaugemaster Prodigy system.

Kilve appeared in HM113.
