2018 Layouts

Layout: Bewdley, BR (WR), 1960s

Bewdley is based on the real location at the Severn Valley Railway. To the credit of the SVR very little has changed since 1862, when Bewdley station opened, and close of the line in 1969.

Layout: Loudwater, BR (WR), 1960s

Loudwater is modelled on a station on the former High Wycombe to Maidenhead line and was the first stop after leaving High Wycombe. The line was truncated in 1970 leaving only the Maidenhead to Bourne End section in use.

Layout: Four Sticks, BR ScR, 1980s

Four Sticks is set in the late 1980s and built in 7mm scale. It is a small private business using the remnants of the slowly reducing Speedlink service.

Layout: Hatch End, BR (LMR), 1980s

Hatch End is 18ft long and is based on the real location on the West Coast Main Line in the 1980s.

Layout: Peakstone, NSE, 1980s

Peakstone is set in the 1980-1990 period where north meets south. It is 7ft long and 2ft 6in wide and incorporates a large station area with through lines and a branch line. It is served by inter regional cross country services and a number of freight trains can be seen running including coal, fuel and parcel diagrams together with some departmental trains.

Oakley Green is a ‘OO’ gauge model railway layout based in the mid to late 1970s on the southern regions of the UK.

Layout: Dubmill Sidings, BR (LMR), 1968-1971

This 7mm scale ‘O’ gauge layout depicts a fictional non-passenger part of the railway system somewhere in the North Western corner of Cumbria. The chosen era is 1967 to 1970 – green and blue diesels, grey, brown, blue and white freight stock and maroon and corporate blue parcels stock – all very colourful.

Layout: Norwood Park, BR (SR), 1960s

Norwood Park represents a BR Southern Region station in the South London Suburbs in the early 1960s. Although not based on any particular prototype our aim is to portray a fictitious station on a line served by trains of the Central and South Western divisions of the Southern Region.

Layout: Hospital Gates, Private railway, 1930s

Many ‘independent’ light railways which sprang up in the early years of the great railway boom operated around sparse traffics with pensionable and homemade rolling stock. Many of these quickly faltered and quietly passed into history during the early part of the 20th century. However, there were others which stayed the course.

Layout: Ladeside Diesel Depot, BR (ScR), 1960s

Ladeside Diesel Depot is one half a large ‘O’ gauge MPD scene which can be operated in conjunction with St Marnock Shed or, as it is this weekend at the Great Electric Train Show, as an independent layout.
